What a dryer vent service actually involves

The dryer gets pulled out first. In slab homes with shallow closets, the transition hose is usually crushed flat against the wall. That comes off. Then a rotating brush goes in on flexible rods, spun by a drill, while a vacuum sits at the open end catching what breaks loose. Long upstairs runs get worked from both ends. Outside, the hood or roof cap comes apart. Screens, louvers and dampers get cleared by hand.

Humidity here changes what comes out. Lint arrives as wet mats, not fluff. It packs into low points where foil flex sags between joists. Beach households add sand and fine grit, which binds the layer tighter. Roof caps collect pine pollen, oak catkins and lint felt until the louver stops moving.
